VietNam Design Week (VNDW) 2022 celebrated the theme “Beyond Expectations,” focusing on the forefront of creativity, innovation, and individualism in design. This year’s event aimed to inspire the creation of a new world for a new generation, highlighting the power of groundbreaking design and the significance of individual expression.
Continuing from the “Designed by VietNam” competitions with themes “Rebirth” in 2020 and “Awakening Traditions” in 2021, this year’s competition embraced “Beyond Expectations” across five fields: Communication Design, Living Design, Decor & Object Design, Clothing Design, and Public Design. A special category, “Hanoi Design City – Beautiful Hanoi in Every Centimeter,” was also introduced.
According to the organizers, “Beyond Expectations” prioritized creativity, innovation, and individualism in design, striving to create a new world for new people. The competition sought to optimize the balance in creative thinking, combining old and new materials and values, along with modern and traditional techniques. The goal was to master and innovate while minimizing negative impacts on resources and the environment.
The “Designed by VietNam” competition aimed to expand the boundaries of creativity, integrating new technological innovations with design thinking to produce products with depth and market sensitivity. The third edition of this competition was expected to deliver groundbreaking and impressive entries, building on the success of the past two seasons.
VietNam Design Week 2022 stands as a testament to the dynamic and evolving nature of design in Vietnam, showcasing the country’s innovative spirit and commitment to excellence in the creative arts.
