May 01, 2023

Ho Chi Minh City – July 2023 – Manga Comic Con Vietnam will take place on July 29 and 30, 2023, at the Sky Expo Vietnam International Exhibition Center (Quang Trung Software Park, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City), with an expected attendance of 40,000 people. This is the leading comic and entertainment event in Vietnam for 2023, featuring a wide range of activities following the model of international pop culture festivals.

Manga Comic Con Vietnam 2023 will offer numerous activities for superhero fans. Highlights include interactions with two Japanese actors: Kaneko Noboru, who played Gao Red (Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger), and Masahiro Inoue, who portrayed Kamen Rider Decade (Kamen Rider Decade series). The actors will be signing autographs, taking photos with fans, sharing their career journeys, and discussing future plans. Additionally, Manga Comic Con will partner with Skyline Media to announce the earliest Kamen Rider film rights in Southeast Asia. On a major stage for the first time, Johnny Trí Nguyễn will reveal untold stories from his stunt work in the blockbuster films Spider-Man 1 (as Green Goblin) and Spider-Man 2 (as Spider-Man).

The event will also feature rare model exhibitions, including the famous Batmobile Tumbler, Batpod, and a multi-billion VND Batman armor; unique models made from hundreds of tires crafted by Nguyen Thanh Trieu, who gained social media fame with his King Kong model made from 200 used tires; a diorama of the battle scene from How to Train Your Dragon with top-notch size and intricacy in Asia; and expensive models at the Toragon booth along with unique mechanical models.

Aiming to “bring comic and movie characters to life,” the event will feature the presence of many international cosplayers such as Hirakin (Singapore), Yosuke Sora (Singapore), Thames Malerose (Thailand), Kiyo (Singapore), and numerous domestic cosplayers. Additionally, there will be 100 booths featuring Japanese manga and Western comics, promising to delight comic lovers.

Furthermore, booths displaying tech products and gaming equipment, along with musical and culinary activities, will complete the festive atmosphere of this new cultural event.

The second Manga Comic Con is organized by VIETFEST, DTS Digital Transformation Alliance, and FM STUDIO. With the model of an international pop culture festival, the event is expected to realize the organizers’ vision of making “MCC an annual event eagerly awaited in Southeast Asia, comparable to similar events in Singapore or Thailand,” according to Mr. Pham Minh Toan, Head of the organizing committee and Chairman of VIETFEST.
